So I’ve decided to take up a new hobby– Crochet. I got a book, Single Crochet for Beginners by Cindy Crandall-Frazier, and I’m teaching myself in my spare time. Crochette is kind of like knitting but way cooler because you can make stuff with one hook instead of two needles. Sure, it’s a little hook but it still makes me feel a little bit cool and tough like a pirate, specifically Captain Hook. Ooh, maybe when I get really good at crocheting I can make a Captain Hook doll. Yeah!
Anyhow, I wanted to share with you my first two projects. The first is a triangular bean bag. It’s cool for a lot of reasons. It’s red, I can stick my needle and HOOK in it, I can throw it up in the air and clap as many times as I can before I catch it (9 so far!), and my dog Shechi seems to really want to eat the beans that are inside.
After the bean bag I made a little yarn guy. He has a hat and a scarf because I guess he’s cold and his name is Bob Yarny McHook. Here is a picture. I hope you like my first attempts at crochette!
